Dental Xrays

X-rays play an important role in dentistry and are generally taken during routine examinations. They help our professionals determine how healthy your mouth is and can detect any issues with your teeth, roots, jaw structure, and facial bone alignment.

We Use Digital Dental X-Rays

Esthetic Family Dentistry proudly utilizes digital radiography! It uses less radiation than traditional x-rays and captures high-quality images we can see on a flat-screen monitor. This helps us detect oral issues faster and more easily while allowing our patients to better understand the root of the problem – no pun intended!

Who Needs a Dental X-Ray?

Your dentist will determine if you need an x-ray based on several factors, including whether you’re a new patient or have specific needs. Typically, we give all our new patients a full-mouth x-ray to determine any dental issues we need to note. Returning patients generally receive fewer x-rays unless they’re dealing with a larger problem, such as gum disease.

What Can an X-Ray Detect?

Our digital x-ray can determine several issues with your teeth, mouth, and oral health. It can even spot hidden problems that a visual inspection might miss! Some of the concerns an x-ray can spot include:

  • Presence of gum disease
  • Abscesses
  • Abnormal growths
  • Impacted teeth
  • Hidden cavities
